Sakari Danielle

This shot is one of my favorites.  I think I need to hang this one on my wall.

A beautiful young lady with a story that will just make you want to hug her and not let go.  Her peaceful energy comes from a place deep within her.  The fog really reflects the softness of her being.

A bit of a creepy or scary look, but the lighting in this old barn was so dramatic, we couldn't resist making a few shots like this.

So Sakari captured my eye long ago, and as our emails and conversations carried on, she captured a part of my heart.  She's endured more than she should have to, and I always pray for her to find peace in her heart.  She has so much to offer the world.

This shoot was in the making for a very long time, and it morphed a few times before we were finally able to put this one in the books.  I think it was worth it.  I'll probably post more from this shoot another time so you can see for yourself.

My California Muse

This is Jazmine Dominique.
For a long time I had wanted to work with her.
Then in the fall of 2009
It all came together.

She flew out here for the weekend.
I picked her up at the airport,
We went to get breakfast,
We picked up dry ice for the shoot,
And we started shooting as soon as we got back!

Her energy on the shoot was incredible!
She knows how to move her body,
Capture the light,
And simply produce amazing images.

The whole day was amazing.
I could feel her energy for life
Emanating from her spirit.
It was quite simply impossible
To have any negative feelings around her.

She's the kind of person
Everybody needs in their life.
It doesn't matter how you're feeling,
Her presence makes anything
A bit better, or easier, to deal with.

Love ya Jaz!!
And I can't wait til you come out here for our next adventure!!

A quick introduction

I decided to start a photography blog, not only to showcase some of my work, but to shed some light on how the images come together.

I'll tell you a bit about the model and/or place, about the shoot itself, and if a photo has a particular story I'd like to share, I'll write it here.

More than likely, I'll be more focused on the art photography that I do, but I'm sure there will be occassions for some of my other work to be highlighted.
